I FOUND THE ROUGAROU (ROUX-GA-ROUX)

The hunt for the Rougarou will be a monthly event on the 3rd Saturday of each month beginning on Jan. 17th, 2026 from 9 am until 4 pm. Children ages 5 - 14 will search the park for the Cajun Legend; the Roux-ga-roux (Rougarou) a creature similar to the European Werewolf. Participates will locate the Rougarou and photograph the creature and return to the park's Entrance Station with their "proof of find" photo. Were will the Rougarou be lurking? The participant who locates, photographs and returns with their proof to the Entrance Station with the "fastest/best" time will be the month's winner. The winner will receive a small prize and be featured on the Park's Facebook page. Check-in at the Entrance Station to register, receive the rules and log your start time. Check high/low and left/right, can you find the Roux-ga-roux???
