CAMPFIRE STORIES: TALES OF NATURE AND TRADITION

November 01, 2025 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Stories of nature, legend-inspired, wonder for everyone.

Join the Interpretive Ranger for an evening that begins with a guided nature walk through the trails of Fontainebleau. As the sun sets, we'll gather around the campfire to share stories inspired by the Native peoples and natural wonders of the region. From animal tricksters to legends of the land and waters, each evening will feature a selection of short tales that bring the park's past and spirit to life. Enjoy the walk, the fire, the sounds of the night, and the timeless power of storytelling under the stars.

The Nature Walk will begin at the Visitors Center at 4:30p and end at the campfire ring after about a mile walk. We'll take a break and get the fire going in time for dusk and sunset, while we settle in for some story time. Who knows? We may even have a few marshmallows too.

Schedule Dates: 11/1, 11/23, 12/6, 12/20

Subject to the weather.

ADA: Visitors with disabilities who would like to enjoy the trails may request use of the Action Trackchair (affectionately known as "the Tank"), which provides full mobility throughout the park.
