Deadline approaching for Louisiana State Parks 2027 calendar photo contest

Submissions close Friday, May 1

Time is running out for photographers to submit their best shots to the Louisiana State Parks 2027 Calendar Photo Contest. The Louisiana Office of State Parks reminds amateur and professional photographers that the submission deadline is May 1, 2026.

Photographers are invited to capture and share the natural beauty, wildlife, outdoor adventure, and rich history found across Louisiana’s State Parks and State Historic Sites. Winning images will be featured in the official 2027 Louisiana State Parks promotional calendar, highlighting the landscapes and experiences that make Louisiana a premier outdoor destination.

The grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 Louisiana State Parks gift card and have their photo featured on the calendar cover. Twelve additional winners will each receive a $250 gift card and be showcased throughout the calendar.

“With the deadline quickly approaching, I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase the beauty of Louisiana’s great outdoors,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “From our scenic waterways and trails to our historic sites and abundant wildlife, there is no shortage of incredible moments to capture. These photos help tell Louisiana’s story and inspire others to get outside and experience all we have to offer.”

Submissions should feature images taken at any Louisiana State Park or State Historic Site and highlight scenic landscapes, outdoor recreation, wildlife, or cultural and historical elements.

Entries must be submitted by Friday, May 1, 2026. For complete contest rules, eligible locations, and submission details, visit the Louisiana State Parks 2027 Calendar Photo Contest webpage.
