180 years ago the US Army fought the first battles of the Mexican-American War and many of the soldiers involved had originally been stationed at Fort Jesup. Visitors to this Special Living History Event will learn about these battles and the lives of the soldiers who fought them through hands on demonstrations and living historians. Visitors will see military drills, musket firing, uniforms, and medical care of the US Army in 1846. This event is hosted in conjunction with the Fort Jesup Living History Unit. Come join us at Fort Jesup for this event, and for more information contact 318-256-4117
