Visitors are encouraged to participate in a ranger-guided hike at Poverty Point World Heritage Site. The hike is set for 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 30. Participants can enjoy the 2.6-mile hiking trail on guided tour around the unique prehistoric earthworks at the site. There will be a discussion on the earthworks and how the mounds were built, along with the nature that can be seen on the trail. We look forward to seeing everyone for a fun Ranger-Guided Hike.
Don't forget to wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes; visitors are welcomed to bring a picnic lunch. Be aware that this program is weather permitting.
