PICTURE PERFECT - LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY

Discover the art of capturing stunning landscapes at Poverty Point World Heritage Site on Saturday, January 18th, at 10 a.m. during a special photography event for enthusiasts of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner just starting out or an experienced photographer looking for inspiration, this event offers the perfect opportunity to develop your skills in a unique and historic setting.

The program begins with a lecture, ?Composition in Landscape Photography,? at 10 a.m. in the site's theater, led by accomplished photographer Patrick Hargon. Following the lecture, participants are invited to join a ranger-guided photography tour, where you explore Poverty Point?s breathtaking landscapes with hands-on advice.

Patrick Hargon is a renowned photographer, filmmaker, musician, and writer from Northeast Louisiana. His work has been featured in galleries across the United States and Europe, including recent exhibitions in Barcelona and Paris. Patrick's photography captures the dialogue between cultural and natural landscapes, offering unique perspectives on the interplay of history and environment.

Participants are welcome to use cameras or phones and are encouraged to bring sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, water, snacks, and any additional photography equipment they wish to carry. The outdoor tour will take place rain or shine, with adjustments made for inclement weather.
