Oakley House Tours

September 27, 2021 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Site Staff and volunteers will guide visitors through the past on a tour of Historic Oakley House circa 1815. The tour of the three story house includes its origins, those that lived or worked there, and the arrival of our most famous visitor the artist naturalist John James Audubon in 1821.   Discussed as well are the interactions of the free and enslaved people of a plantation and life in late Colonial and Early America in Louisiana. Tours will be given on the hour between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.  An admission is charged.
