Love The Boot

On Saturday April 22nd from 9:30am to noon, Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site will host a litter pick up and site beautification event as part of Love the Boot Week, Louisiana's largest litter cleanup effort held in conjunction with Earth Week, April 17-23, 2023. Love the Boot Week is organized by Keep Louisiana Beautiful and supported by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.

Beside roadside litter collection, volunteers at Longfellow-Evangeline will be assisting with the site beautification projects such as the removal of invasive plant species along the sites native plant trail, mulching flowerbeds and planting trees. Upon completion of the project, volunteers will have the opportunity to tour Maison Olivier, a Creole Plantation Home built circa 1815.
