LOST ARTS: 19TH CENTURY SOAP MAKING

A demonstration of the Lost Art of 19th Century Soap Making.  The demonstration will be featured in Rosedown's Old Kitchen outbuilding and will show the procedures and processes that were used in past eras to produce blocks of soap down-hearth.  The living history presenter will discuss the history of soap making and the various stages of the soap-making process, from measuring and mixing of ingredients, to heating over the fire and pouring the hot liquid into molds to form blocks of soap.
