Life Between the Battles

The average soldier during the American Civil War only experienced combat one day out of thirty.  What did they do when they weren't fighting?  Mansfield State Historic Site invites you to see the answer firsthand on Saturday, July 6th.  Visitors will witness what the daily life of a Civil War soldier was like including how they trained, what they ate, and where they sheltered during those four years of fighting.
