So far out on the frontier, settler's and soldiers often had to provide themselves with the necessities of life, if supplies and a store were unavailable. Join us at Fort Jesup as we discuss how soap was made for use on the frontier, including how tallow would have been rendered, how a lye trap was built, and the different processes by which soap was created. Guests will learn how body soap, laundry soap, and even old-fashioned stain remover were created, and the modern equivalents that can be created today. For more information contact us at 318-256-4117.
