HOMESTEAD ARTS: CANNING & FOOD PRESERVATION

Now days the idea of homesteading has become very popular, people are trying more and more to get back to their roots and learn these survival arts.  We invite you out to Fort Jesup to participate in a program designed to teach and talk about the history of food preservation on the frontier.  This program will include demonstrations on how food would have been canned and preserved at both civilian homesteads and on the military Fort itself, and a talk and demonstration about the modern techniques commonly used for canning and food preservation today.  For more information contact us at 318-256-4117.
