April 6th HISTORIC NATIVE PLANT USE 11AM & 1PM
In 1821 the people who lived on Oakley Plantation both Enslaved and Free still depended on native plants to provide a wide variety of food, medicine, tools and other necessities. Many of these plants are still found on Audubon State Historic Site today. Join a park interpreter for a leisurely walk to discover some of the many uses of our native plants. This is a walking activity and may be cancelled due to inclement weather. An admission is charged. For more information please call the park at 1-225-635-3739.
