Guided hike 

Join us for the first guided hike of 2024 at Fontainebleau State Park! This event will be a memorable experience, filled with opportunities to connect with nature. This will be an enjoyable 3-mile hike that is suitable for both seasoned hikers and those new to the trails. This program will begin at 10 a.m.  at the Visitor's Center and led by the Interpretive Ranger.   

Admission/Entrance Fees
$3 per person
Free for seniors 62 and older; children 3 and under
 

North Toledo Bend State Park

January 1, 2024

Self-guided hikes on multi-use trails.

Trails at North Toledo Bend State Park

  • Trail A – 1-1/2 miles
  • Trail B – 4 miles

Admission/Entrance Fees
$3 per person
Free for seniors 62 and older; children 3 and under

St. Bernard State Park

January 1, 2024 
Nature Trail hike will be less than one mile.

Admission/Entrance Fees:
$2 per person, age 16 and older; $1 per person, age 15 and under
 

Sam Houston Jones State Park

January 1, 2024

Nature hike on the Riverwalk Trail with Southwest Master Naturalist Barbara Morris, 9am-11am. The trail is 1.6 miles long

Forts Randolph-Buhlow State Historic Site

January 3, 2024

Self-guided tour of the park highlighting the hiking trails.
Trails at Forts Randolph & Buhlow State Historic Site:

  • Boardwalk Trail A -- 1/4 mile
  • Boardwalk Trail B -- 1/4 mile
  • Trail between forts -- 1/4 mile

$4 per person

Mansfield State Historic Site

January 3, 2024 
First Day Hike on General Mouton’s Trail. The trail is a 1 mile hike. We will meet at the museum and begin at 10 a.m.

Poverty Point World Heritage Site

January 6, 2024 
First Day Hike around the mounds of Poverty Point World Heritage Site. The hike is 2.6miles. You will meet at the museum for 10am to begin the hike.
