First Day Hike at Palmetto Island State Park

Start your New Year with an adventure in nature! Join us January 1st at 10:00 AM at Pavilion 1 for our annual First Day Hike. This 2-mile guided trek will lead you through some of the park's most scenic spots including the beautiful Abbeville Red Iris display on the boardwalk, peaceful views along Evangeline Pond, and a stroll through the lush Palmetto forest. For families and those with little ones or pets, a shorter 0.75-mile kid- and pet-friendly route will also be available.

Don't forget to bring your bug spray, water, and your sense of adventure as we kick off the new year outdoors at Palmetto Island State Park!
