FIRST DAY HIKE AT LONGFELLOW
Join us the first Saturday of January 1st for a Ranger-led hike through Longfellow Evangeline SHS. Starting at 9:30AM, discussions during the walk will include the history of the park, new developments for 2026, plans for the extended future, native plants, and potential projects. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water. This event is weather dependent.

Trail Description:
This easy, out-and-back trail is approximately 1 mile total with a mostly flat, natural surface. Portions of the path may be slightly uneven due to gravel, roots and soft soil near the bayou. After rain, some areas can be slippery. The route winds through historic grounds, shaded oak alleys, offering clear views of native plants and wildlife.
