Enslaved Life at Rosedown

In recognition of Black History Month, this program, taking place on Feb. 18 at 11 a.m., will involve a brief overview of the history of African-American enslavement, followed by a more detailed look into enslaved life at Rosedown.  The layout of the plantation including outbuildings, home sites, work areas and the cotton fields will be discussed. We will also explore the hierarchy, duties, accomplishments and treatment of the enslaved inhabitants of Rosedown.  Also discussed will be specific enslaved individuals and their duties. The program will include touring the main house and touring outbuildings on the grounds.
