EARTH OVEN COOKING

Visitors to Poverty Point World Heritage Site are invited to take part in a ranger-led cooking demonstration at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan 11. The program offers a unique look at prehistoric cooking with an earth oven, showing how the Native inhabitants used heated earthen objects and hearths to prepare their food. Come and join us around the fire as we cook food as indigenous peoples did thousands of years ago!
