Crafts of the Past: Basket Making

Guests to Fort Jesup will have the opportunity to observe the historic craft of basket making from start to finish.  A living historian will demonstrate how splints were peeled from logs and prepped for basket making, as well as how to soak splints, and then create baskets.  There will also be a discussion on different basket making techniques as well.  For more information contact 318-256-4117.
