Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (February 27, 1807 -March 24, 1882) was one of America's most beloved 19th-century poets. His epic poem, Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie, strengthened his place as the most famous writer of his time and left a lasting cultural impact, especially in Nova Scotia and Louisiana. His legacy still endures today in Acadian cultures, where Evangeline remains a symbol of resilience, identity, and heritage.
