CATCHING FIRE

March 15th  Catching Fire , 10AM- Noon Something as simple as the ability to create fire once could be life or death in an early Louisiana.
Discover fire with the help of park interpreters during this unique program. Guests will get plenty of hands on opportunities to try out different fire making devices used through the years. Try your hand making a spark using flint and steel. Experience how long it takes to create a smouldering ember using a fire bow. Experiment with both friction and compression methods to create the start of a fire. Make your own fire bundle and give it a try.
