An Enslaved Life

February 24, 2024 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Join us in exploration of the lives of those many enslaved people who have stories yet to be told. We will delve into family life using original plantation cabins as the backdrop for talks and cooking demonstrations. We will learn the skill that it took to accomplish everyday tasks and how that evidence still exists in every plantation seen but unseen. Our exploration continues with witnessing how archaeology reveals a buried past and hear the few stories still left of the lives of a few individuals and their struggles with slavery. The program is included in the parks entrance fee and all activities are ongoing.
