America the Beautiful Week!!!

June 03, 2024 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

America The Beautiful Week lights up the first week of June. It's a special time to appreciate the song ?America the Beautiful? and to honor the love for the country. Ever heard of plogging? It's jogging but with a twist of picking up litter. This quirky activity keeps you fit and cleans up our site. Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site explores the cultural interplay among the diverse peoples along the famed Bayou Teche. Acadians and Creoles, Indians and Africans, Frenchmen and Spaniards, slaves and free people of color all contributed to the historical tradition of cultural diversity in the Teche region.
June 3rd thru June 9th encourages us to reflect on the natural and ideological beauty that defines the United States, encouraging a collective appreciation and fostering a sense of national pride. Bring the kids, the neighbors, or just your crafty self to honor the spirit of America's Beautiful Week. Come by to visit the site with all of its beauty.  Hours of Operation: Daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm
