Visitors to Poverty Point World Heritage Site are invited to connect with the ancient art of acorn cooking on Saturday November 21 at 11 AM. Before agriculture, acorns were a staple food for Indigenous peoples in North America and for various cultures throughout the world. This presentation will provide an in-depth look at the process of preparing and cooking acorns. Some prepared acorn cookies will be available for those who want to try this ancient native food!
