AT POVERTY POINT WORLD HERITAGE SITE

Visitors to Poverty Point World Heritage Site are invited to connect with the ancient art of acorn cooking on Saturday November 15 at 11 AM. Before agriculture, acorns were a staple food for Indigenous peoples in North America and for various cultures throughout the world. This presentation will provide an in-depth look at the process of preparing and cooking acorns. Some prepared acorn cookies will be available for those who want to try this ancient native food!
