A Day in the Life of the Early Acadian Child
In recognition of National Kids to Parks Day, Longfellow-Evangeline will be offering a special program in which children will be able to experience what life would have been like in the early 1800s as an Acadian child. The day connects kids and families with their local, state, and national parks and public lands through thousands of park events that promote discovery and exploration in the great outdoors.
Children will be encouraged to participate in chores (such as weeding gardens, seeding cotton, litter remediation) as well as having the opportunity to play games the Acadian children enjoyed. This program is subject to change based upon weather conditions. For more information call toll free 888-377-2900 or 337-394-3754. Local organizations are welcome to participate. Pre-registration is required.
