The park remembers the 242nd Anniversary of the 1779 Revolutionary War Battle for Baton Rouge. This battle, the largest Revolutionary War Battle this far west in the British Colonies and saw the founder of Oakley Plantation as a soldier in the ranks, will be celebrated through a day of Living History activities. The program is set for Friday, October 29, 2021 from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. These activities bring that early time alive through weapons demonstration, cannon demonstrations, tactical and drill demonstrations, along with open hearth cooking and period craft demonstrations. Open to any Home School group but they must preregister. Oriented towards Elementary/Middle School ages. Includes no house tour.
