Night Hike

March 19, 2022 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Visitors are invited to enjoy a nature-based night hike at Poverty Point World Heritage Site. The hike is set for 7:30 p.m.  on Saturday, March 19.  During the hike, we'll be illuminated arachnids during a session of spider sniffing, call on owls during an owl prowl, and share stories from several Native American cultures around the campfire. If guests wish to roast marshmallows or prepare s'mores, please do bring your own items, but we will have roasting sticks on hand.

The Night Hike is limited to 50 participants. Please call or email the site to register your group. Visitors are encouraged to bring flashlights in order to participate in spider sniffing. Proper hiking attire and footwear is also recommended, especially if it happens to be muddy on the trail.
