September 13, 2021 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Site Staff or Park Volunteers will guide visitors on a tour of the Historic Oakley House Circa 1815, one time home of the Artist Naturalist John James Audubon.  The tour will include Audubon?s time at the house in 1821, his ? Birds of America? and how they were created here, and lastly discussions of his interactions with both those enslaved on the plantation and with the owners of Oakley House. The house is unusual as it has been restored to its roots in Early America 1815 -1821 as to its furnishings. Tours are offered daily from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
