Crafts of the Past - Dressmaking

Guests are invited to join the Crafts of the Past program series, where each month different historic crafts are demonstrated and discussed.  March's historic craft will be dressmaking and will include discussions on patterns and pattern drafting, how to sew a seam and finish it in a historically correct manner, and how styles changed in the 25 years Fort Jesup was open.  The program is slated for 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, March 26. Guests are invited to come out and learn about sewing in the 1800s, and how it an be incorporated into today.
