Controlled Burn - North Toledo Bend State Park

Our certified prescribed burning team will conduct a controlled burn at North Toledo Bend State Park on March 12, 2025. All trails will be CLOSED. Follow all posted caution signage and stay away from burning debris. Smoke may be visible in and around the park.

Purpose of the Controlled Burn:

Essential for maintaining a healthy ecosystem. These planned fires:
Reduce excess vegetation and lower wildfire risk
Improve wildlife habitat and promote native plant growth
Enhance overall forest and land health

North Toledo Bend State Park
