
Fontainebleau State Park sustained significant damage from Hurricane Ida in 2021. Cabins reopened November 2024. The marsh boardwalk remains closed at this time.

The Louisiana Department of Health Beach Monitoring Program tests water at 23 beach sites along the Louisiana coast to determine whether the water quality meets Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) criteria. Beach water quality sampling is performed between the months of May though October.
